“My House Shall Be Called Of All Nations The House Of Prayer” - GOD
by Pastor Mark Tross
Victory Church Of God
All four Gospels mention the scenario that confronts us with the above quote from God, Matthew 21:12-19, Mark 11:17-20, Luke 19:45-48 and John 2:13-17. Most remember Jesus making a scourge and driving out of the temple, sheep and oxen, pouring out the changers’ money, and overthrowing tables and seats of those who sold doves, plus those who bought.
He taught daily in the temple, the scribes and chief priests feared Him and were displeased, all the people were astonished at His doctrine and very attentive to hear Him, crying out, ‘Hosanna to the son of David!’ On this same day, Jesus healed the blind and lame in the temple. There’s always more to know and understand, to grow in the grace and knowledge of Him. Jesus Is The Son Of God, The King Of Kings & Lord Of Lords and He’s coming again SOON!
I would not be telling you the truth, if I left out the cursing of the fig tree. John the baptist warned the religious people of his day, ‘The axe is at the root of the tree!’ Are you bearing good fruit for His Kingdom? These are trying times, but we must be wise in our day and discern the times that we live in. Paul said, ‘We are living in the last days’ and John said, ‘We are living in the last hour.’ How then shall we live?
Everything here happened during God’s appointed feast of Passover, which most will remember was established, as He was about to deliver the Israelites and the mixed multitudes out of the slavery of Egypt, which represents the world system that many still live in and under today. The New Testament tells us that Christ is our Passover Lamb, Who takes us out of darkness, leads us into His Marvelous Light, brings us from death to Life and when we repent of our sin and receive His Holy Spirit, old things pass away and all things become new! If you’re a confessing Follower of Christ, He was a man of prayer, intimate communion and fellowship with The Father. Should not we ‘Go and do likewise?’ According to Peter, we are now ‘living stones, being built up, into the temple of God.’ Jesus said, ‘I will build My Church.’
Should we not then be ‘a house of prayer?’ Paul exhorted us to ‘pray without ceasing.’
